Chief Executive officer behind BlackBerry said on Wednesday that its forthcoming tablet computer would be available at the cost of below $500. RIM co-chief said that Canadian firm’s touchscreen tablet computer; The “PlayBook” will be introduced in North America in the first quarter of 2011 with global launch in the second quarter of the year.
“There is a lot of demand and we are seeing a lot of interest retailers,”Balsillie said on the sidelines of the Group of 20th summit in Seoul.RIM unveiled the PlayBook in San Francisco in September.
The PlayBook has a seven-inch display, and compatible with Flash video, 1 GHz dual-core processor, HDMI out put along with front and rear camera. The PlayBook will be competing with Apple’s popular iPad, and Samsung’s recently launched Galaxy Tab.
