Nokia N8 is the current top of the line Symbian^3 based multi-media handset. However, in last few days, several Nokia N8 owners complained that the phone powers off all by itself. Niklas Savander, Exec. Vice President for Nokia, acknowledged the issue at the official Nokia Conversations blog that a small number of users have been affected by the significant issue. He claimed that Nokia has found and fixed the source of the problem.
Some N8 users are reporting that their device lovely device is no longer turns on. What’s a worse, phone won’t even charge properly which is a clear sign that some aspect of the device’s power management is faulty.
Today, Nokia has responded through its official conversation blog with a little video interview and admitted that Nokia N8 phone is having power management issue.
Nokia’s head of sales and marketing, Niklas Savander is stressing that only “a very small number” of users are affected with this problem now, so let’s hope that’s true.
“We have been getting excellent feedback from consumers on the capabilities of the Nokia N8, but in the last couple of days, a very small number of users have reported that their Nokia N8 is not switching on as it should. Product quality is a top priority for Nokia, so we’d like to take this chance to offer you some clarification on the topic.”

This is not the first time that Nokia’s highly anticipated touchscreen Smartphone has suffered from critical issue. Last year, Nokia 5800 XpressMusic manufactured during a specific time period suffered from defective speaker and screen issues.
The pompously launched Nokia N8 was reviewed by us in October but we didn’t face any such issue – at least Prasad Naik didn’t complain about the power issue. The power down or power out issue is limited to only certain users. This means that the issue is present only in a specific batch of N8 phones.
