The new information related with the fact that the device embeds a dual-core Tegra 2 CPU are coming right after LG leaked their own dual-core Android Smartphone, the LG Star. Unfortunately, there weren’t any pictures of the Olympus spotted in the wild, but recently, courtesy of Gizmodo, two pictures of the upcoming smartphone are now available.
Tegra 2 seems to be the hottest thing in Android town – the Motorola Olympus is yet another dual-core Android that has entered the rumor mill. Apparently, there is a second Olympus too though there’s not a shred of info on it.
The display on the Tegra 2-powered device, though, seems bigger, and knowing that it is powered by two cores humming along at 1GHz, it should be blasting through the benchmarks as well. If that’s going to be enough to crown it as the most advanced Smartphone when it hits the shelves.
It is unclear if the phone was delayed so that Motorola could include Android 2.3 out-of-the-box or the device is still a work in progress. According to research company MKM Partners, the Motorola Olympus is expected to be launched on AT&T during the last week of January 2011.
