Htc Image3

HTC has released the latest HTC Sync 3.0 update for the HTC Legend, HTC Desire HD, Desire Z, Wildfire, Desire, Aria and Hero, but only if your device runs Android 2.1. The update’s improvements are that the software now supports group syncs in contacts, extends calendar sync for up to 1 year and adds “My favorite” for contacts.

“You can use HTC Sync to synchronize Outlook contacts and calendar or Outlook Express contacts and the bookmarks of web browser between your computer and your phone. HTC Sync helps you to install Android apps and brings photos, videos, songs and playlists from your computer to your phone. . It also lets you install third-party Android applications on the phone.  Sadly, the update is not for North American customers of the above-mentioned phones, but we hope that this is going to be fixed sooner rather than later.

So I’ve been playing around with Android 2.1 for about a month now on my HTC Aria. I’ve used an iPhone before, and to be honest I prefer Android over iPhone. And speaking of favorites, my favorite 3 apps on the Droid:

    1) Shazam
    2) Syncables for Android
    3) Advanced Task Killer

Whenever I hear a song I don’t recognize, Shazam almost always knows what it is. For music lovers, this is can’t-live-without.

Syncables backs up/syncs my contacts and media between my computers (Mac, PC, etc.) and my Droid, Essential. You need the desktop app along with it, and it is worth every penny. I have all of my computers in sync now.

Advanced Task Killer saves my battery, oh I don’t know, probably an extra 2 hours per session at least by closing down the apps that constantly run in the background otherwise.
