Reports that come directly from Kazunori Yamauchi demands that the Gran Turismo 5 development is complete. Series creator Kazunori Yamauchi has revealed during an interview at Las Vegas car show SEMA today that discs are roll out of the production like literally right now.
Most retail sites are currently using “placeholder” dates since Sony has yet to reveal the revised launch date. Theoretically, Sony did state the game would launch during the Holiday season and that last until mid-January. “The discs are being stamped as we speak,” Kazunori Yamauchi said. He didn’t actually say when the game would be out – that’s an issue even the Gods themselves must still be pondering over. But with the discs in production at least we know Yamauchi and team has stopped faffing about and put their pens down.
The report did not mention any possible release date. If what Kazunori says is true, the likelihood of Gran Turismo 5 coming in 2010 seems high. The game was recently delayed last month for unspecified reasons and was originally due to hit retailers today. Now retailers are all listing a December 31 or January 1 release date, but these are often inaccurate. Sony says they’re still shooting for a holiday launch.
