According to SonyStyle.com, an online retail store for all Sony Products has listed the game for pre-order with a release date as November 30.
Gran Turismo 5 has been in the development cycle for a long time: dates have been set, the game has been delayed, new features have been added, and it repeats. However, since the discs for the games are being produced, Polyphony Digital couldn’t delay the game again even if they wanted to – gamers are finally going to get their hands behind the wheel in of one of most anticipated racing games to date.
The posted date is precisely imprecise. However, a November 30 launch date would be perfect for holiday shopping. At just over three weeks to go before Christmas, retailers would have time to restock the shelves with Gran Turismo 5 once or twice.
With Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi announcing earlier this week that the disks for upcoming addition to the GT franchise were now in production and rolling off the printing press, this November launch will confirm his claims and no doubt appease the many gamers who have waited up to five years for the title to arrive. Finally, Sony’s own store, which says GT5 will be available “on or about 11/30/2010.” Okay, so that’s your update; what say you? Yamauchi and Sony are probably the best sources, and perhaps that listing on the Sony Style store is the biggest, most reliable hint. Still, there’s no way of telling until the official word arrives.
