Apple is selling all of its Wi-Fi only and Wi-Fi + 3G models of the iPad at discounted prices today. All iPad models are discounted by $41 this Black Friday, with the cheapest one (16GB WiFi) starting at $458. The 64Gb WiFi+3G model is $788. Free shipping is also on offer, and personal engraving if you want to gift the iPad to your loved ones.
Now while its great that Apple has finally decided to take part in the Black Friday sales and offer discounts on their products alongside apps in the App store, it is surprising to note that you can grab an Apple iPad for cheaper elsewhere. We have received confirmed reports that both Marshalls and T.J. Maxx have the base iPad 16GB iPad model on sale as well at an extremely low $399.99. That’s $100 off the recommended retail price and also $59 cheaper than direct from Apple.
Those one-day sale prices probably still sound expensive to many consumers, but the Black Friday sale is getting buzz from tech blogs because Apple rarely discounts the price of its high-end electronics and because the iPad is said to be one of the most sought-after gifts of the year. The iPad was the No. 1 item on the electronics wish lists of kids ages 6 to 12, according to a survey from Nielsen. It was the fourth-most-sought-after item among kids older than 13. Computers, TVs and smartphones were higher on the list for the older kids.
