Most of us familiar with the Jackass movies, it’s basically just watching them hurting themselves. So when they announced that the new movie was going to be in 3D it just made me laugh. Something about watching stupid people get bloody noses and broken bones in 3D just doesn’t seem very interesting.
Johnny Knoxville, Steve-O and Bam Margera will return to the big screen on November 5 for a third Jackass adventure. How are things different this time? Well, according to Knoxville, the gang are “taking the same 3D technology James Cameron used in Avatar and sticking it up Steve-O’s butt”.
Johnny Knoxville was quick to explain the benefit of another dimension in a movie about stupidity when he appeared on “The Daily Show” Monday. “I wish we’d have done the first two movies in 3D,” he told host Jon Stewart, “because with what we do, all the dumb stuff we do — it really puts you right in the middle of the prank or the stunt.”
The whole 3D effect just ruined the movie and made it almost impossible to sit though. There really isn’t much of a plot and I’m pretty sure you have to be smoking something to truly understand what is actually happening in this film. With all the cussing and toosh showing this film is very inappropriate for children to watch and I would imagine that older adults would find it distasteful. I really believe that this film is targeted for the teenage generation. If you really want to spend your money on this film you better have a good sense of humor or it will be a waste of your time and hard earned money.
“Jackass 3D” opens today in theaters everywhere and, with solid reviews and the commercial-friendly 3-D element, could rake in more that $30 mil for the weekend to best the $29 million opening frame of “Jackass 2.”
