The BlackBerry maker Research in Motion has announced the launch of it’s new smartphone BlackBerry Bold 9780 in United States. It is the first BlackBerry Bold smartphone to come with the new BlackBerry 6 operating system.
The new smartphone Bold 9780 has a 2.4-inch display screen with 400×360 resolution and a full QWERTY keypad with an optical trackpad. The BlackBerry Bold 9780 provides a 5 megapixel camera with 2592×1944 and a LED flash. The camera also supports 2x digital zoom and auto focus features. This phone features BlackBerry 6 OS, 624 MHz processor and 512 MB RAM. The new BlackBerry 6 OS offers a webkit-based browser, universal search and integration of all social networking feeds.
It also supports 3G networks around the world, includes Wi-Fi with support for carrier supported Wi-Fi calling (UMA where available) and GPS for location-based applications and geo-tagging. Other features on the phone include 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth and a micro SD slot for expansion of memory upto 32 GB. Video player supports 3GP, DivX, WMV and xVID. The standard Li-Ion battery offers 528 hours standby time and 6 hours of talktime. The BlackBerry Bold 9780 also includes 512 MB Flash memory and an expandable memory card slot that supports up to 32 GB of additional storage.

Users residing in the United States can purchase the new BlackBerry Bold 9780 beginning November 17 from T-Mobile for $129.99 after a fresh two year service agreement and $50 mail-in rebate card.
