There’s a new player in town on the PC case scene, and their name is BitFenix. Their first splash is going to be a big one, as their highly anticipated Colossus E-ATX case has been officially announced today.
BitFenix is very much a newcomer to the saturated market of computer cases. They are looking to get their foot in the door and to make a big name for themselves. With the introduction of the Colossus case, it is clear they intend to make a very large impression on the market. This large tower form factor case is almost two full feet tall and deep, so you know it lives up to the name Colossus. With advertised features such as a security-minded top storage/access panel, unique exterior LED lighting system, and massive cooling capabilities, this case has much promise to be a great debut for BitFenix as a company.
Built “specifically for gamers and PC enthusiasts from the ground up,” the Colossus case boasts features like USB 3.0 ports on the front I/O, user customizable LED lighting and fan controls, and surfaces covered with Betfenix’s “SofTouch” coating that protects the case from stains. There’s even a place to lock away valuables in the top of the chassis with the included BitFenix S3.
Cases are very cosmetically orientated items, but they also must perform and function to certain standards before they can be considered worth purchasing. Items reviewed by Benchmark Reviews are rated on the following categories: Performance, Appearance, Construction, Functionality, and Value. While some of these categories can tend to be a bit more subjective than others, Benchmark Reviews strives to provide the most professional and unbiased review as possible.
8 PCI slots, room for seven hard drives or SSDS, and E-ATX motherboard compatibility means the Colossus can handle the most insane gaming setup you can throw at it. A nearly toolless design and both internal and external cable management hope to make installation a breeze. BitFenix states the case will hit retail shelves in September for $169 USD or 159 Euros. Keep you eyes peeled at TweakTown for a complete review coming soon.
