At Arthur Ashe Stadium, Federer got his second consecutive straight set win against Andreas Beck 6-3, 6-4, 6-3. Yet even Federer couldn’t match the dominance of Carolina Wozniacki, who did not lose a single game against Kai-Chen Chang.
Novak Djokovic, Robin Soderling and Jelena Jankovic returned after narrowly surviving round 1. The US Open tennis 2010 results improved for Soderling and Djokovic, as they won in straight sets. However, Jankovic went to three sets for the second straight match, but she again survived over Mirjana Lucic 6-4, 3-6, 6-2. But the highest-seed who did lose was men’s sixth seed Nikolay Davydenko, who went down in straight sets to Richard Gasquet.
