In Tokyo Game Show (TGS), Capcom has revealed X-23 as the latest Marvel character to join its insane crossover fighter, Marvel vs Capcom 3.
The new character hails from the Marvel side of the game’s equation, and comes in the form of the deadly X-23. In the comic book world, X-23 is a female genetic clone of hairy mutant Wolverine, and as such shares many of Logan’s abilities, including accelerated healing and an adamantium-coated skeletal structure.
Similar to Roll Caskett, the first character revealed by Capcom is Tron the mechanical genius of the Bonne family. She is in charge of building all of the Bonnes’ mechanical devices, including the Gustaff, Gesellschaft, and even her adorable Servbots. She has always wanted to go on missions and adventures just like her older brother Teisel, but was never given the chance until Teisel and Bon were kidnapped by Loath and Glyde. Tron is also the creator and mother of the Servbots, who she treats just like children. Although Tron will not admit it, she also has a huge crush on her not so arch-rival, MegaMan Trigger.
The second character is X-23, she was created for the X-Men: Evolution animated television series, then brought into comics. X-23 first appears in episode #41 (Season 3 Episode 11) of the program (titled “X-23″). The character’s first comic book appearance is in NYX #3 in 2004. Electronic Theatre will keep you updated on all news from Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds.
In the new trailer released to show off X-23 in the game, the dangerous clone looks to also have a similar moveset to Wolverine–that is, quick, with plenty of effective slash moves and attacks, as well as a dash move that looks to be executable in mid-air. One of the supers shown has X-23 uttering the words “dirt nap”, before disappearing from the screen. She is seemingly underground, and pops up to deal heavy damage to her foe. The second super shown has her doing a slashing cartwheel using the claws on her hands and feet. The final finisher shown has X-23 doing a rapid flurry of attacks (like Wolverine’s berserker rage attack), before finishing it off with two diagonal dashes.
Marvel vs Capcom 3 is due on the PS3 and Xbox 360, with an official release date yet to be confirmed.
