Tecmo Koei just held a private event in Tokyo today announcing Ninja Gaiden 3. There was no other information provided to those who attended the event, only that the title is in development. No platforms were announced at this time but I would expect it to be on the Xbox 360 and PS3. They did however provide one concept drawing at the event which you can catch a glimpse of above or go past the break for the whole image.
According to early reports, Ninja Gaiden 3 will be handled once again by Team Ninja, marking the first instalment in the franchise to be churned out following the departure of series creator Tomonobu Itagaki.
This ‘new direction’ could mean more realistic take. In the artist’s drawing of Ryu, we see a much grittier and bloodied protagonist. One who seems a departure from the well kept, perfect Ninja we’ve grown accustomed to. This could be what the series has needed.
No other information is available on the game, but we hope to see some trailer during TGS. The game I think is going to get released on the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3. Stay tuned for more news and updates on GamingBolt.
