We already know that UK defense secretary Liam Fox Fox has urged retailers in the U.K. to ban the upcoming “Medal of Honor” game from Electronic Arts (EA). The game, a reboot of the “Medal of Honor” series, has a multiplayer mode in which players can play on the side of the Taliban.
But EA has defended its game, noting as we did above that someone has to play the bad guys in a multiplayer event. A spokeswoman for EA said:
“The format of the new Medal of Honor game merely reflects the fact that every conflict has two sides. We give gamers the opportunity to play both sides. Most of us have been doing this since we were seven: someone plays the cop, someone must be robber. In Medal of Honor multiplayer, someone’s got to be the Taliban.”.
