TiVo Slide QWERTY Remote Review: TiVo has started to ship its QWERTY TiVo Slide Remote in conjunction with the unveiling of its TiVo Premiere. TiVo’s Slide remote packs a slide-out QWERTY keyboard with a numeric keypad, which makes searching and content-discovery from the sofa much easier.
Its high price and noticeably different ergonomics, though, keep us from recommending it for every user. The TiVo Slide is a must-have remote for owners of compatible TiVo DVRs.
It uses Bluetooth wireless, which eliminates need for line-of-sight infrared; solid feel and good overall ergonomics; backlit keys; incorporates all buttons and same basic design found on classic TiVo “peanut” remote; allows for TV or AV receiver volume and input controls.
