We saw one Apple Peel case that converts the iPod touch into a functional iPhone. Then, we saw a second Peel case with Sprint branding. And now, we have a third one to consider.
The tPhone is the third iPod touch 3G jacket, Just like the Apple Peel 520 and the Sprint-bound Peel, this device adds a 3G modem to a jailbroken iPod touch, which then allows for phone calls and SMS.
This one packs a 1,200mAh battery, 50 percent larger than the Apple Peel, but offsets that by existing as a “super-duper thick” hard case that clips on to the Touch. It naturally also offers a SIM slot and a dock port, augmented by a handy microUSB port on the side.
This version probably won’t make any official debut outside of China, but there’s always the grey market. We’re hoping at least one comes out with a usable software package.
You could get tPhone Ipod Touch Jacket for about $100.
