Samsung Galaxy Tab Spotted in the Wild : The Samsung GalaxyTab has had its pics leaked, it’s been spotted in the wild, and now it’s 20s teaser video (below) hits the web… all in all your average thinly veiled attempt to get a little buzz going before the actual product launch which is slated for Sept 2nd in Berlin presumably at the IFA trade show.
Samsung’s upcoming iPad killer, the Galaxy Tab, for awhile now. Here’s what we know: the device is slated to come in both a 7-inch and 10-inch form factor, and it’ll essentially be a big version of their Galaxy S smartphone. We’ve also heard rumor that the specs are bound to disappoint, specifically when it comes to the display running at a measly 800 x 480 resolution.
Spotted by an Electronista contributor, who proceeded to interrogate the man in an awkward conversation (captured via the wonders of a camera phone), the 7-inch version of the tablet was described as ‘awesome’ and ‘different’ by the tester.
The video ends with the Tab’s owner suddenly clamming up and realizing he’s said too much. “I can’t talk about it,” he insists. I’m guessing he’ll wish he’d taken his own advice once his bosses hear about this leak.
The details on the Galaxy Tab are thin, but here’s what we know thus far. The Tab will run on Android 2.2 and feature full Web-browsing and video calling. The short clip also implied that the Galaxy Tab will sport an HD screen for video, Flash support, support for e-books, possible GPS navigation, and PC linking. The few shots of the screen’s keyboard look promising, as do the brief flashes of the built-in apps. The device itself is black, with a few buttons below the touch display and the Samsung logo up top. There’s no word on pricing yet.
