Samsung Galaxy Tab – Rumours and Official Video : The Official Announcement will held on 2nd Sept 11:00 at Samsung Media Conference at IFA 2010,Berlin.
Earlier this year Samsung unveiled plans for an Android-based Galaxy tablet PC to launch by the end of the year. New details are emerging now, and it appears that Samsung may launch a 7-inch Android tablet based on its new Galaxy S line of phones, in a few weeks at the IFA 2010 consumer electronics show in Berlin.
Meanwhile, speculation builds that Apple will also release a 7-inch version of the iPad at a September event. The details on the Galaxy Tab are thin, but here’s what we know thus far. The Tab will run on Android 2.2 and feature full Web-browsing and video calling. The short clip also implied that the Galaxy Tab will sport an HD screen for video, Flash support, support for e-books, possible GPS navigation, and PC linking. The few shots of the screen’s keyboard look promising, as do the brief flashes of the built-in apps. The device itself is black, with a few buttons below the touch display and the Samsung logo up top. There’s no word on pricing yet.
The tablet, which may be called the P1000 Galaxy Tab, is reported to have a front-facing camera for video calls, something lacking in Apple’s iPad, but available on the iPhone 4. It’s not yet clear whether the Samsung tablet will go on sale first in Europe, when it will be available in the United States, and what its cost will be.
