Waterloo-based Research In Motion is expected to introduce a new BlackBerry smartphone in New York today to challenge Apple’s iPhone. RIM’s new BlackBerry is expected to be a touch-screen device with a slide-out keyboard. Analysts are also watching to see if RIM gives a more detailed demonstration of its new operating system.
The touchdevice will run on A-T-and-T’s network and feature a pull-out keyboard and a new operating system to make Internet surfing faster. RIM released a touchscreen phone two years ago to mixed reviews and analysts have been asking when it will introduce an “iPhone killer.”
