MSI has just announced the arrival of a new 14-inch model, the FX400. With a panel capable of displaying a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels, 2.2 kg notebook integrates a Core i5 and DDR3 memory and a GeForce GT 325M with 1 GB of memory. There is also a hard drive with a capacity ranging from 250 to 500 GB versions, a DVD burner, a memory card reader and a 0.3 MPixel webcam. Controllers Ethernet, WiFi 802.11n and Bluetooth 2.1 complete the package.
The embedded TDE technology works behind the scenes to boost CPU performance and increase system speed with just one touch of the Turbo hotkey placed above the keyboard. Additionally, the GPU Boost technology intuitively switches between discrete graphics card and integrated graphics chip modes for enhanced graphics and power saving.
The notebook hosts HDMI, D-sub, USB 2.0, eSATA, mic-in, headphone out and RJ-45 I/O ports and Intel 802.11 b/g/n as well as Bluetooth v2.1+EDR connectivity. The audio attributes are supported by THX TruStudio PC sound and two theater class speakers. Above the 14” HD TFT LCD’s bezel sits a 1.3MP webcam for video chatting over the internet.
The FX400 also has an audio 2.0 THX certified and has technology TDE (Turbo Drive Engine) and GPU Boost. Finally, note the presence of a 6-cell battery. Unfortunately, the manufacturer has not yet indicated any availability date or price.
