Microsoft Announced XBox Live Games for Windows Phone 7

xbox live games on win mobile7

Microsoft have today revealed the launch line-up for the upcoming Windows Mobile 7 devices, and boy, is it a great list! But first, for those of you unaware, here’s a brief description of the LIVE fuctionality that the phones will offer when they’re released this Holiday season:

Windows Mobile 7 phones, which will hit the market later this year, will feature the Xbox gaming platform on the devices. This would be the most attractive feature of Windows Mobile 7, and Microsoft is hoping to see all the Xbox maniacs turning to Windows Mobile 7 devices over other popular products. Also Windows Mobile 7 phones will become the first devices outside the traditional PCs and Xbox live to feature Microsoft Xbox games.

As predicted, Windows Phone 7  will allow users to display their 3D avatar on the new devices, and even better, users will have full access to the wardrobe so if you decide to make on the fly fashion changes, you can.

It is clear Microsoft has not just added Xbox Live ‘lite’, because Windows Phone 7 also includes multiplayer gaming, which can be done not just against friends with handsets featuring the new OS, but also PC users thanks to asynchronous multiplayer.

Xbox Live integration is definitely more than just a feed of updates. Users of the online gaming service will be able to compare achievements, challenge their friends and rivals to a game, see who is online and what they are playing, whether it is on PC, Xbox or Windows Phone 7.
