Bank of America’s online banking service was down for some time today. It may still be down for some people. At first, it was believed to only have been down for people in Maryland, California, Michigan and a few other states, however, that’s doesn’t appear to be the case. It seems it was/is down for people in all states.
The online sign in for bankofamerica.com seemed to be down for most locations in the U.S. The website appears to be coming back for most people. More than likely if it is still down for you, it should be up relatively shortly. It is probably just an issue with delayed DNS caching.
The folks managing bankofamerica.com are aware of the problem and have issued the following statement on Twitter that reads: “We are diligently working to fix the issue and our teams are fully engaged to have the website up and running as soon as possible.”. Yes we understand that having such a huge site down for over 3 hours now maybe a major inconvenience for some, but have a little patience and bare with the company as they try to solve the issue as rapid as possible.
Someone believed to be from Bank of America released the following statement on twitter, “We are diligently working to fix the issue and our teams are fully engaged to have the website up and running as soon as possible.”.
Customers can also get account information from ATMs or banking centers. Burke said none of Bank of America’s 18,000 ATMs were affected by the outage.
