Viewed from outside, NEC VersaPro Ultralite, it seems that nothing. Yet it is one of the industry’s most powerful ultraportable computer with Intel Core i7-620UM and chassis that weighs less than 9 ounces. It ‘a 12.1-inch 62GB SSD drive (but you can also have the classic 160 or 320GB HDD), supporting a maximum of 5GB of RAM and autonomy of 7.7 hours according to the manufacturer. If you want you can opt for a bigger battery, 12 hours, but in this case the weight goes up to 1kg.
The design is not quite in line with western fashion, who wants so thin lines but also the “soft” as possible, and the two keyboard / touchpad computer remembers a few years ago, but enough to put everything on the right even a PC Card port dimensions are equal to 283 × 210 × 25 ~ 29.8mm, less than an A4 sheet. The screen resolution is 1280x800px.
The Core-i7 1.06GHz to provide better performance than any other netbook. The benchmark results are on pcwatch, but generally just say that with the VersaPro PCMarks gets 5,092 points, compared with 1468 of the new Sony Vaio P with a 2.13GHz Atom Z560 and 2826 points against the Celeron SU2300.
Obviously this is a niche product, sold in Japan for the equivalent of $2,800 (248,000 yen). Curiously, for the same price, you can buy 10 netbook with Atom N450.
