Asus has posted on his website 1001PQ Eee PC, a colorful netbook aimed at pre-teen or young at heart. This machine has two different designs, the first is purple with fire while the second is yellow with racing stripes, both apparently come with stickers to customize your exterior.
Despite its playful appearance, specifications of this machine are at par with any netbook. Within its 10.1-inch chassis can find an Intel Atom N450, 1 to 2GB of DDR2 RAM, 160GB hard drive or 250GB, a 0.3 MP webcam, multi-touch trackpad, Ethernet, 802.11 Wi-Fi b / g / n, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR optional VGA output, two USB 2.0 ports and a card reader MMC / SD.
The 1001PQ has a weight of 1.1 kb / 2.42 lbs with battery of three cells and 1.27 kg / 2.79 lbs with six-cell battery, which offer between five and nine hours of use. This computer comes with the interface “Inspirus Desktop” which according to Asus will keep children entertained “by the hour” as well as a simple browser with parental control. Still is not listed price or availability.
