In the family of Acer monitors, three new kids come to their appearance. This is the range of LCDs S1, designed for leisure or work. Main characteristics of three models: smaller depth between 13 and 15 mm, the use of LED backlighting to reduce energy consumption, and lack of toxic substances such as mercury or halogen gas.
The new devices achieve a contrast ratio of 12.000.000:1. The resolution is, depending on the model, between 768 and 1,366 x 1,920 x 1,080 pixels. All units are just 15 millimeters thick. The reaction time is only 5 milliseconds, according to Acer. All displays are equipped with analog VGA connectors, the models with 22 and 23 inches also offer a HDMI interface.
The models of the new Acer S1 series are now available commercially. The price is around 140 € for the 19 inch monitor (Acer S191HQL) and about 160 € for the 20 inch monitor (Acer S201HL). The top models with 22-inch (Acer S211HL) cost 179 € or 200 € (23-inch, Acer S231HL)
