Asus introduced its new Lamborghini VX6 notebook earlier this week. Now we have a few more details about the laptop, including a launch date and target price. Word on the street is that the laptop should be available in September for about $699 (Check out new prices and buy it from Amazon). That’s pretty expensive by netbook standards, but it’s actually not ridiculous for a 12.1 inch laptop with Lamborghini branding and a few premium features including USB 3.0 and HDMI ports.
The new laptop bears the name of Lamborghini VX6 and sports the Lamborghini logo on its white lid. Overall, the design seems quite stylish, though the insides may seem more unusual than intriguing. To be more specific, the CPU chosen to power the laptop is dual-core Intel Atom D525, with 1.83GHz frequency. This chip is paired with none other than the NVIDIA ION discrete GPU and a 12.1-inch liquid crystal display (LCD) with a native resolution of 1,366 x 768 pixels.
Other supporting features of the Asus Lamborghini VX6 include a 1.3 MP webcam, Bluetooth and a 6-cell 5200 mAh 57wh battery that is good for up to 7 hours of use. The VX6 will come pre-installed with a Windows 7 Home Premium OS.
