Google has launched it’s new index, dubbed Caffeine. It promises faster updates, faster searches, and expandability to match the growth of the Web. In IT Blogwatch, bloggers watch Google stick to the knitting.
The purpose of this update is to provide all relevant information much sooner, as the latest published in blogs, forums, images or news, and so “always find the latest content, almost from the moment its published.”
Google said a new system of indexing was required as web pages have become complex and richer in content, with real-time information, news and multimedia updates. The new method is likely to give greater exposure to sites such as twitter and could boost traffic to information companies that depend on providing real-time proprietary data.
