ECS announced an affordable e-book reader at Computex 2010 called Everest EB-900. Its powered Marvell PXA 800 MHz 166e processor by 7.9-inch wide screen and touch-enabled e-ink has 1200 x 825 pixels resolution.
Linux 2.6 kernel based operating system is installed in the e-book reader, 256 MB RAM and 1 GB of internal storage unit is included, SD memory cards to increase storage space possible. The device support popular document format like epub, CHM, TXT, RTF, PDF, OPF, DOC, JPG, PNG, BMP, GIF, TIFF, WMA, AAC, OGG, WAV, FLAC. The device features USB 2.0 interface for transferring and battery has a capacity of 2100 mAh. The ECS-900 Everest will be available from next month will be sold in China and Taiwan markets.
