Motorola has been experimenting with different designs for phones, and its next effort is going to feature a flip-around display.
The Motorola Flipout will apparently be an entry-level model with 2.8-inch touchscreen that can rotate around to expose a small keyboard and D-pad.
Motorola FlipOut has a square form factor in which the screen can be slided to reveal the QWERTY keyboard. This square handset runs Android Eclair 2.1 with MotoBlur branding. Inside the FlipOut, Motorola has packed a 700MHz microprocessor, 512MB ROM, and 256MB RAM so that Android’s 2.1 update can run smoothly. This GPS phone will reportedly include HSPA 3G, a GPS receiver and a 3.1 megapixel camera.
The phone can be seen in three different colors black, green, and pink (as shown in images). The Motorola Flipout will be released in the United States in June, if an unconfirmed report is correct. Also unknown its the price.
