AOL launched its 1st free Web mail service.AOL Mail users simply go to mail.AOL.com, enter their log in information and start sending e-mails.

AOL Mail is also referred to as AIM Mail is a web-based email service provided by AOL. Its major competitors are Gmail, Windows Live Hotmail and Yahoo! Mail. The “AIM” in the name means AOL Instant Messenger, AOL’s instant messaging program.
