The DAWA D7 device will feature Android 2.1 as the operating system of choice instead of Windows CE. You won’t find it to be a speedy device though, considering 600MHz Telechips 8902 chipset, based on an ARM11 processor. It’s got a 7-inch screen (no word on capacitive or resistive, unfortunately), with a 800 x 480 resolution. There’s 256MB of RAM, 2GB of NAND flash memory, and finally a 1500mAh battery. How long will that last you? Dawa says if you’re surfing the Internet, it’ll last you about 3 hours.
Having said that, it would mean that it ships with Wi-Fi connectivity at the very least, and just in case you don’t like watching videos on the 7″ display, there is always the option to hook it up to a HDTV via its HDMI port.
There’s also no word on pricing or a release date quite yet.
