TomTom has revealed a new top-of-the-range portable sat-nav system, which it says will get drivers to their destination ‘easier, safer and smarter than ever before’.
Powered by a 500Mhz ARM11 processor, the two stand-out features on the Go Live 1000 are the capacitive touchscreen display (TomTom’s first) and the WebKit-based user interface. TomTom promises that the UI will still be “easy to use” but the graphics have been stepped up a bit.
Users can also expect a SIM card slot, 4GB of internal storage, 128MB of RAM and one year of complimentary TomTom Live services.
This device will be available in Europe with 1 full year free Internet usage. TomTom has also added 2 new features which are IQ Routes and HD Traffic.
The TomTom Go Live 1000 is expected to be available in the UK and Europe sometime this summer.
