At sessions at the conference the company said that the new operating system will not, as expected, handle full multitasking for non-Microsoft applications, since third party applications were sandboxed. In addition the operating system would not support multi-tasking.
The operating system will also not have the ability to cut and paste. Apple took heat from its users over the lack of cut and paste in the first iPhone but Microsoft reportedly said that most Office users don’t need to use the function, despite it being a feature of its mobile operating system for over eight years.
Phones using the operating system will be out by the end of the year Microsoft said. It is unlikely that some phones running Windows currently will be able to upgrade.
