Facebook has achieved a significant milestone as it has toppled Google to become the most visited site in the U.S.
Last week, Facebook had about 7.07% hits in the country. It was getting more visitors during Christmas and New Year.
A survey done by a consulting firm suggests that Facebook had 7.07% of total hits in the country during the week ended on13 March 2010. Google was in the first place with 7.03% of hits in the same period.
Facebook boasts some 400 million users while Gmail had 176 million unique visitors in December, according to tracking firm comScore.
